OsTPP1 regulates seed germination through the crosstalk with abscisic acid in rice

چکیده

Seed germination is essential for direct seeding in rice. It has been demonstrated that trehalose-6-phosphate phosphatase 1 (OsTPP1) plays roles improving yield and stress tolerance In this study, the of OsTPP1 on seed rice were investigated. The tpp1 mutant germinated slower than wild-type (WT), which can be restored by exogenous trehalose. seeds showed higher ABA content compared with WT seeds. was hypersensitive to catabolism inhibitor (Dinicozanole). Furthermore, two genes downregulated responsible increased concentrations, trehalose transcripts genes, suggesting acted same signaling pathway. Further analysis a transcription factor OsGAMYB an activator OsTPP1, expression decreased both endogenous ABA, subsequently reducing suggested new pathway required addition, ABA-responsive especially OsABI5, invoved OsTPP1-mediated germination. Overall, our study provided pathways controlled through crosstalk

The Arabidopsis A4 subfamily of lectin receptor kinases negatively regulates abscisic acid response in seed germination.

Abscisic acid (ABA) is an important plant hormone for a wide array of growth and developmental processes and stress responses, but the mechanism of ABA signal perception on the plasma membrane remains to be dissected. A previous GeneChip analysis revealed that a member of the A4 subfamily of lectin receptor kinases (LecRKs) of Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana), At5g01540 (designated LecRKA4.1)...

Copper suppresses abscisic acid catabolism and catalase activity, and inhibits seed germination of rice.

Although copper (Cu) is an essential micronutrient for plants, a slight excess of Cu in soil can be harmful to plants. Unfortunately, Cu contamination is a growing problem all over the world due to human activities, and poses a soil stress to plant development. As one of the most important biological processes, seed germination is sensitive to Cu stress. However, little is known about the mecha...

Ascorbic acid and reactive oxygen species are involved in the inhibition of seed germination by abscisic acid in rice seeds

The antagonism between abscisic acid (ABA) and gibberellin (GA) plays a key role in controlling seed germination, but the mechanism of antagonism during this process is not known. The possible links among ABA, reactive oxygen species (ROS), ascorbic acid (ASC), and GA during rice seed germination were investigated. Unlike in non-seed tissues where ROS production is increased by ABA, ABA reduced...

Abscisic acid transporters cooperate to control seed germination

Seed germination is a key developmental process that has to be tightly controlled to avoid germination under unfavourable conditions. Abscisic acid (ABA) is an essential repressor of seed germination. In Arabidopsis, it has been shown that the endosperm, a single cell layer surrounding the embryo, synthesizes and continuously releases ABA towards the embryo. The mechanism of ABA transport from ...

Proteomics of rice seed germination

Seed is a condensed form of plant. Under suitable environmental conditions, it can resume the metabolic activity from physiological quiescent status, and mobilize the reserves, biosynthesize new proteins, regenerate organelles, and cell membrane, eventually protrude the radicle and enter into seedling establishment. So far, how these activities are regulated in a coordinated and sequential mann...
